Meet the Trainer

Hi, I’m Chelene, owner of I Heart Canine PR. As a certified positive reinforcement trainer with an animal welfare certificate, I specialize in more than basic commands. I help Guardians understand their dogs’ body language and address challenges like anxiety, consent, and reactivity.

My mission is to bridge the gap between human emotions and canine instincts using science-backed positive reinforcement. Let’s build a stronger bond and set your dog up for success—together!

Meet the Demo dogs

Meet Mikita, born in Sept 11, 2016, she is a staffy X blue heeler mix and is the main inspiration for the company. For many years she has show her emotions and has used her body language to talk to mom and express her needs and wants. She also loves her t.v. and will ask for it to be on or too have it changed to something she likes. Mikita has struggled with reactivity and being antisocial towards of dogs and keeping a loose leash untill mom became a trainer. She can now walk away from uncomfortable situations with ease and walks right beside her mom. She will be available for online lessons only.

Meet Da Vinci, born in Aug 10,2022, he is a mini poodle and in true poodle fashion is a fast learner and smart as they come. He is the best dog to show how the training with positive reinforcement can help. Da Vinci is a prime example of that time and effort can look like when training. He is a super dog social fluffy little guy that will respect and help understand body language . He can show what a rocket recall can look like, what a good side heel is and he will do it in style with a smile. He is his he mom’s right hand helper. Da Vinci is available by request depending on what we are teaching. He will be joining us in some classes as well

Happy Customers

I brought home my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in February 2024 when he was 4months old. This is my first time, as an adult, being a pet owner. Growing up we had a CKCS, but of course I had no part in raising her. When I brought Hershey home, I fell in love immediately, but I also quickly realized that I was going to need some help and guidance. Hershey was the last pup of the litter to go to his forever home, and because of that he was behind in vaccinations. I had to keep him inside until I got those up to date, which then caused him to be very behind in socialization and learning to walk on a leash. Hershey also struggled to be left alone long enough for me to just go to the bathroom.

I found Chelene online and we set a time to meet. She came to my home and quickly agreed that Hershey was very nervous and lacking confidence, but she assured me that we could definitely work on that together.

She taught me some simple training techniques to help teach Hershey to listen to my commands, and also gave me guidance as to how to teach him that he can be alone in one room while I go to another. She taught me how to reinforce the behaviour I want.

Chelene has also been working with me to help socialize Hershey. He is quite vocal around other dogs, but is improving. There is still work to be done of course as there is no quick fix for dog training. It takes consistency from the owner and guidance from a professional trainer. I am so thankful to have found Chelene, and the 3 of us make a great team!
